As an Environmental Composer Stephen lives in many musical worlds centralized in Jazz, Classical, and Afro-Cuban. Stephen’s visionary pursuits fusing Wilderness, Art, and Environmental Education are receiving national attention through his work with the USFS, the NWR, the Wilderness Society, the Arthur Carhart National Wilderness Education Center, and many community based nature preserves.
Traveling the United States in search of inspiration in our Country’s most wild places Stephen has served as Composer-in-Resident for the Okefenokee N.W.R., the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex, and participated in Denali N.P.’s monumental Composing in the Wilderness Field Seminar.
Throughout 2014 Stephen honored the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act producing The Wilderness Act Performance Series in Atlanta, GA. The Wilderness Act Performance Series reached new heights for Preservation Awareness in Atlanta’s urban environment.
